This is a hybrid leadership role that combines technical DevOps leadership, people management, and Agile delivery management. You will provide technical oversight across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and system reliability while ensuring the team consistently delivers high-impact outcomes through effective Agile execution.
This is not a traditional Scrum Master role. We are looking for a leader who brings technical credibility, removes organizational friction, drives continuous improvement, and helps engineers build scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
DevOps Strategy & Technical Leadership
- Define and execute the team's DevOps strategy aligned with engineering and business goals.
- Provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and deployment.
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, security, performance, and availability.
- Define and drive the embedding of security practices into the team's strategy, ways of working, and technical decision-making.
- Drive infrastructure automation, DevOps best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and implement tools, including AI-assisted solutions, to improve engineering efficiency.
- Own and prioritize the DevOps backlog, balancing business priorities, operational needs, and technical debt.
- Define the team's roadmap and delivery priorities with engineering leadership.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, remove blockers, and manage delivery risks.
- Communicate progress, priorities, and risks to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve Agile processes and team delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing DevOps team.
- Set goals, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Ensure production systems are secure, reliable, and highly available.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis to improve system resilience.
- Monitor operational performance and partner with development teams to improve deployment quality and platform maturity.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams as a Team Lead, Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience implementing Agile practices within engineering teams and leading cross-functional delivery.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and automation scripting.
- Experience improving engineering processes through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong technical understanding of modern DevOps principles, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native operations.
- Ability to embed security practices within DevOps workflows and the broader engineering team, including secure CI/CD, infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, and security-minded engineering behaviors.
- Excellent backlog management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to balance operational work, business priorities, technical debt, and long-term platform improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Agile Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) is a plus but not required.

- Operational issues are identified early, resolved quickly, and prevented from recurring through continuous improvement.
- Team members continue to grow in capability, accountability, and ownership.
- Engineering leadership has confidence in the team's technical direction, execution, and delivery.
