Role: Cloud Architect
As public cloud usage scales in complexity across our client's organization, there is a need for someone to define and lead a unified architecture strategy spanning their multi-cloud footprint. With over 50 active workloads running across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, we're seeking a Cloud Architect who can bring enterprise-grade design expertise, drive standardization, and provide technical leadership grounded in deep platform knowledge. This person will guide the broader organization on security guardrail design, network standardization, and adoption of Well-Architected best practices.
About the Role
As a technical lead within the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), you'll own everything from setting org-wide architecture direction across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI to establishing and enforcing technical standards.
What You'll Do
Architecture Design & Standardization
- Lead high-level architecture reviews for service teams across all cloud platforms
- Define reference patterns for Landing Zones, account structures, and network topology (VPCs, VPNs, Dedicated Interconnect, cross-cloud connectivity, hub-and-spoke)
- Run Well-Architected Framework reviews across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI
- Advise Business Units on cloud migration and modernization strategy
Governance & Security Architecture
- Build and continuously refine the multi-cloud governance model
- Design security guardrails and compliance controls (IAM, network policy, encryption, audit logging)
- Partner with the security team on Zero Trust and CSPM implementation
- Work with security and legal on risk assessment and remediation planning
Technical Standards & Roadmap
- Provide technical leadership on CCoE roadmap items like guardrails and Landing Zone development
- Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption and standardization using Terraform
- Guide architecture decisions on Kubernetes, serverless, and managed services
- Standardize disaster recovery, high availability, and scalability patterns
Cost Optimization (FinOps)
- Define FinOps strategy and cost-optimization architecture
- Design tagging standards, cost allocation models, and multi-cloud cost visibility
- Recommend Reserved Instance, Savings Plan, and Committed Use Discount strategies
- Lead architectural changes to cut data egress costs
Mentorship & Enablement
- Mentor CCoE engineers and review their architecture designs
- Chair an internal Architecture Review Board
- Develop and share cloud architecture best practices org-wide
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption
- Build e-learning content for internal training
Vendor & Cross-Org Collaboration
- Act as primary technical liaison to cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)
- Assess new vendor offerings and roadmaps for internal relevance
- Align architecture standards with peer CCoE teams in other business units
- Partner with external stakeholders on cross-org cloud strategy
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and running infrastructure on at least two major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Proven experience leading senior-level architecture work on at least one platform (others can be learned on the job)
- Hands-on Landing Zone and network design experience (VPC, VPN, hub-and-spoke, multi-region)
- Practical Terraform (or similar IaC) experience
- Experience designing cloud IAM and security guardrails
- Professional/Expert-level architect certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, OCI Architect Professional)
- Strong communication skills, including translating technical topics for non-technical audiences
- Professional working proficiency in English
Nice-to-Haves
- Multi-cloud architecture experience (2+ providers)
- Experience presenting cloud strategy to executive stakeholders
- Kubernetes/container platform architecture experience
- Zero Trust and CSPM implementation experience
- Hands-on FinOps work (tagging, cost allocation, optimization)
- GCP Dedicated Interconnect and Shared VPC experience
