Responsibilities
CMDB Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute the enterprise CMDB strategy and roadmap.
- Establish data models, service taxonomy, and configuration standards.
- Implement governance processes to maintain CMDB data accuracy and integrity.
- Drive automation and system integrations to reduce manual updates.
- Provide executive reporting on CMDB maturity and data quality metrics.
- Own service mapping for critical business and technology services.
- Ensure visibility of upstream and downstream system dependencies.
- Align service architecture with disaster recovery and resilience planning.
- Support impact analysis for change management and incident response.
- Integrate CMDB with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), incident, change, and disaster recovery (DR) workflows.
- Enable dependency-aware incident routing and root cause analysis.
- Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure configuration alignment.
- Establish lifecycle governance for assets, services, and configurations.
- Support enterprise Recovery Time Objective (RTO) / Recovery Point Objective (RPO) definition through validated service relationships.
- Provide configuration intelligence during cyber incidents and recovery events.
- Ensure audit and regulatory readiness through defensible configuration documentation.
- No direct reports (This position will not have management responsibilities).
- None (Standard office environment).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise Information Technology operations, architecture, configuration management, or infrastructure engineering within complex, multi-site, hybrid cloud environments.
- 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing CMDB, ITSM, or service architecture functions, including ownership of roadmap, governance model, and measurable service quality outcomes across corporate, manufacturing, research & design, and cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in service mapping and dependency modeling, including application-to-infrastructure relationships, manufacturing system dependencies, cloud workloads, and critical business services supporting regulated operations.
- Experience establishing and maintaining configuration governance standards, including configuration item (CI) lifecycle management, data quality controls, ownership accountability, change integration, and audit defensibility.
- Proven experience integrating CMDB platforms with ITSM systems, discovery tools, cloud environments (Amazon Web Services), identity platforms, and automation workflows to provide accurate, near real-time visibility into enterprise assets and service dependencies.
- Ability to communicate service risk, operational resilience posture, and configuration integrity metrics clearly to executive leadership, audit stakeholders, and cross-functional governance committees.
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience operating in regulated industries such as medical device, healthcare, or life sciences, with an understanding of how CMDB and service architecture support compliance, operational continuity, and inspection readiness.
- Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks including National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cyber Security Framework (CSF), NIST 800-171, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cybersecurity guidance, particularly as they relate to asset inventory, system classification, access control validation, and audit evidence.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification or equivalent experience implementing ITIL-aligned service management practices across incident, change, problem, and configuration management processes

TransMedics is committed to equitable and transparent compensation. The expected base salary range for this role is $182,450.00 – $227,550.00, which represents the company’s current good-faith estimate of compensation for this position. Actual salary will depend on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific work location. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and wellness resources).
