Responsibilities
• Design and architect secure, scalable, and highly available solutions on OpenStack.
• Create and review HLDs/LLDs, reference architectures, landing zones, and network/security designs.
• Lead migration projects from on-premises or legacy platforms to OpenStack environments.
• Architect and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity solutions across data centres or regions.
• Plan and execute lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and cloud modernization initiatives.
• Deliver managed services operations including monitoring, patching, backup, optimization, and incident/problem management.
• Configure and manage cloud resources such as compute, storage, networking, security groups, and identity services.
• Work with OpenStack core services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Swift, Keystone, Horizon) and related components.
• Implement automation using Infrastructure as Code and scripting tools (Terraform, Ansible, Heat, Shell).
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams for requirement gathering, solution design, and technical presentations.
• Conduct cloud readiness assessments, sizing exercises, capacity planning, and cost optimization reviews. • Prepare technical documentation including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, operational runbooks, and DR procedures.
• Support pre-sales activities such as solution workshops, PoCs, and proposal development when required.
Qualifications
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure design.
• Strong experience with OpenStack-based cloud platforms
• In-depth understanding of OpenStack components: Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Swift, Keystone, and Horizon.
• Experience in designing and implementing cloud migrations for VMs, applications, and databases.
• Proven experience in Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and high-availability architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware).
• Familiarity with networking concepts including VLANs, overlays, routing, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation and orchestration tools.
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management) within managed services environments.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes/OpenShift is an advantage.
• Strong communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
