Overall

The SAP Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the end-to-end SAP cloud architecture landscape across SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Integration Suite, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and other SAP cloud solutions.

The role ensures that the SAP solution architecture aligns with business objectives, security standards, integration requirements, and enterprise architecture principles. The architect acts as the technical authority throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring scalable, secure, and supportable cloud solutions built on SAP Clean Core principles.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Solution Architecture

• Define and maintain the overall SAP cloud architecture strategy.
• Design end-to-end solution architectures across SAP and non-SAP platforms.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and technology roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide governance throughout project delivery.
• Validate solution designs against SAP best practices and Clean Core principles.

SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Architecture

• Design SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud solution landscapes.
• Guide application extensibility using SAP BTP.
• Ensure adherence to SAP Public Cloud fit-to-standard principles.
• Define architecture patterns for finance, procurement, supply chain, HR, and other functional domains.
• Support deployment and release planning activities.

Integration Architecture

• Design integration solutions using SAP Integration Suite, APIs, OData services, Event Mesh, iFlows, web services, and middleware platforms.
• Establish integration standards and reusable design patterns.
• Review interface specifications and integration designs.
• Ensure secure and scalable connectivity between SAP and third-party systems.

SAP BTP Architecture

• Define SAP BTP platform architecture and environments.
• Design extension strategies using SAP Build, CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), SAP Build Process Automation, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP AI Services.
• Govern platform usage, security, and lifecycle management.
• Recommend solutions that maintain SAP Clean Core principles.

Security & Compliance

• Work with security teams to define Identity and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and data protection controls.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, industry regulations, and corporate security standards.
• Support security assessments and architecture reviews.

Environment & Infrastructure Management

• Define landscape strategy across Development, Test, Quality Assurance, and Production.
• Manage environment architecture and transport strategies.
• Support performance, scalability, resilience, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure optimal use of SAP Cloud environments.

Technical Governance

• Establish architecture governance processes and lead design authority / architecture review boards.
• Manage architecture risks and technical debt.
• Approve solution designs and technical deliverables.
• Produce architecture documentation and standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, programme management, functional leads, technical teams, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors.
• Present architecture recommendations to executive stakeholders.
• Support workshops, fit-to-standard sessions, and design reviews.

Desirable Skills

• S/4 HANA Procurement Senior Consultant at least 7 years of experience
• Should have hands on S/4 public Cloud experience in Procurement modules
• Should have worked on flexible workflow, purchase requisition and purchase order creation
• High level knowledge of PTP processes

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

• 10+ years of SAP implementation experience.
• 5+ years in SAP Cloud Architecture roles.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA Cloud architecture experience.
• Deep understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite and API-led integration.
• Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, SAC, and other SAP cloud products.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale SAP solutions.
• Strong stakeholder and client-facing communication skills.
• Experience working within SAP Activate methodology.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and governance frameworks.
• SAP Certified – SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
• SAP Business Technology Platform certification.
• Cloud certifications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
• PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or Scrum qualifications.
