AI Platform Lead
Indexed description
Here is the target picture: anyone at Qondor, from the CPO to a junior engineer, should be able to express intent and impact in a well-formed prompt, and get compliant, production-ready code out the other end. Your job is to build the system that makes that true.
We call it the system around the system. The agentic development platform, the guardrails, the SaaS patterns, the code architecture and the AI-native development process that together turn intent into shipped, safe product. You get a strong mandate and free rein to build it. This is a hands-on builder role. You will not manage people. You will build, and what you build will set the pace for everyone else.
We help meetings & events professionals sell, plan and deliver profitable, seamless experiences. Qondor is the Nordic leader in meetings and events management software, with strong and growing traction in the UK and beyond. Our platform replaces a patchwork of tools with one connected workflow, from first request to final invoice, and gives agencies the financial overview they need to protect their margins.
In 2025, around 44,000 events were delivered through Qondor across more than 15 countries, and more than half of our ARR already comes from outside Norway. Our vision is to be the intelligent platform that runs Europe's meetings and events industry.
Backed by leading B2B software investor Monterro, we are entering a structured phase of international growth with ambitious ARR targets for the years ahead. Product and engineering sit at the core of that plan, and we believe tomorrow's interface might very well be agentic. That belief shapes both what we build and how we build it.
You will own the platform that our product is engineered on, reporting to the CTO. Our development workflow is built on agentic coding: spec-driven development (SDD) and test-driven development (TDD) loops where AI agents write most of the code, and humans direct the work through specs, tests and rigorous review. Today, engineers run those loops. Your mandate is to industrialise them: better specs, stronger guardrails, automated verification, compliance built into the pipeline, until the loop is safe enough and good enough that expressing clear intent is the main human contribution.
That mandate spans the whole platform. The agentic development process itself. The SaaS patterns and code architecture that keep agent-written code coherent over time. The Azure infrastructure we run on, with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL underneath. The data lakes and retrieval (RAG) pipelines that ground our AI agents. And the APIs and MCP servers that will let both our own and external agents work with the platform securely.
This role has its base at our Oslo office. You will work side by side with the CTO, the product organisation and the rest of the leadership team, and building the system around the system requires being where the builders are. We offer flexibility in the everyday, but this is not a remote position. Start is as soon as possible. Due to the annual leave period, we will begin interviewing applicants at the start of August.
• Build the system around the system: the agentic development platform that takes a well-formed, intent-driven prompt to compliant production code
• Design, run and continuously sharpen our SDD and TDD agentic loops: specs, tests as guardrails, automated review and verification
• Set and facilitate the SaaS patterns and code architecture that keep an agent-built codebase coherent, secure and fast to change
• Build compliance, security and quality gates into the pipeline so safe speed is the default, with multiple deploys per day through feature toggles as the target
• Own our Azure infrastructure: architecture, cost, performance and security
• Build the data foundations that ground our AI agents: operational databases, data lakes and RAG pipelines
• Make the platform ready for an agentic future, including well-designed APIs and MCP servers for our own and external agents
• Raise the effectiveness of everyone who builds at Qondor, and measure it: speed of safe change, output per builder, reliability
• A builder, first and last. You want to build, keep building, and own the technical outcome. You are not looking for a people-management track, and you earn authority through what you ship.
• Far ahead on agentic coding. You already run agent-driven development loops as your default way of working. Spec first, tests as guardrails, agents doing the bulk of the implementation. You can show how this has changed your output, not just talk about it.
• Strong on SaaS architecture. You have deep experience with cloud-native platforms, CI/CD, feature toggling and evolutionary architecture, and you know what it takes to keep a codebase coherent when agents write most of it.
• At home on our stack. Hands-on Azure infrastructure experience, and solid depth in databases. We run on Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Comfortable growing into data lakes and AI retrieval. Hands-on experience with data lakes and RAG pipelines is a plus, not a requirement. If you are as far ahead on agentic coding as we expect, we trust you to master grounded, secure retrieval for our agents quickly.
• Security and compliance minded. Identity, access control, data protection and auditability are built into how you design, not bolted on afterwards. You understand that agent-written code raises the bar for verification, not lowers it.
• Experienced with MCP. You have provided or consumed MCP servers and understand what it takes to expose a platform to AI agents. This is a strong plus.
• Direct and warm. You give honest and clear feedback and expect the same in return. You build trust quickly and get people on board.
• Fluent business English. Norwegian is a plus, not a requirement.
• A strong mandate and free rein to build the system around the system, backed by the CTO and the leadership team
• The chance to define how an AI-native engineering organisation works, not inherit someone else's playbook
• A hands-on role with no people-management overhead, where your output is the platform everyone else builds on
• A product customers genuinely love, used to deliver tens of thousands of events every year
• A collaborative leadership team with high ambitions
• Access to knowledge sharing through Monterro and a network of peers across approximately 30 software companies in the Nordics
• A social work environment characterised by collaboration, culture building, and high commitment
• Competitive terms and pension scheme
• Flexibility in the everyday, with our Oslo office as your base
• Modern office in the centre of Oslo
