Title: Senior Full-Stack Technical Lead

FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt

Reports To: CEO

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Technical Lead to spearhead the authorized analysis, requirements extraction, and clean-room rebuild of a complex authenticated web application.


This role combines technical leadership, software architecture, browser automation, AI-assisted workflow orchestration, cloud engineering, security design, and full-stack development. You will be responsible for designing and implementing browser automation systems using Playwright, documenting business workflows and system requirements, architecting a modern replacement platform, integrating bounded AI agents, establishing automated testing frameworks, and leading deployment into secure cloud environments.


The ideal candidate is equally comfortable performing hands-on engineering, defining system architecture, mentoring developers, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence throughout the software lifecycle.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Lead the end-to-end technical strategy for rebuilding an existing authenticated web application.

Define application architecture, system boundaries, integration patterns, and technology standards.

Translate observed business workflows into functional and technical requirements.

Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, development workflows, and architecture governance.

Provide technical mentorship to software engineers and automation developers.

Conduct architecture reviews and oversee technical decision-making.


Browser Automation & Workflow Analysis

Design and implement browser automation solutions using Playwright.

Analyze authorized user workflows, application behaviors, and business processes.

Capture workflow documentation, application states, user journeys, and data flows.

Develop tooling to support requirements gathering and process validation.

Maintain clear auditability of workflow observations and documentation.


Full-Stack Application Development

Architect and develop modern web applications and APIs.

Design scalable backend services and secure integration layers.

Build responsive front-end applications with excellent user experience.

Design and manage relational and non-relational data models.

Implement robust authentication, authorization, and access-control mechanisms.

Ensure maintainability, scalability, and performance across the application stack.


AI Agent Integration

Design and implement bounded AI agents within clearly defined operational constraints.

Implement human-in-the-loop approval workflows for critical actions.

Integrate large language models and AI services into business workflows.

Build agent orchestration, monitoring, and governance capabilities.

Ensure transparent audit logging of AI-generated outputs and decisions.

Establish safeguards to prevent unauthorized actions or privilege escalation.


Security & Compliance

Apply secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.

Implement least-privilege access controls across all systems.

Design secure credential management and secrets-handling processes.

Ensure separation between development, testing, scanning, staging, and production environments.

Develop audit logging, traceability, and monitoring capabilities.

Participate in security reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.

Collaborate with compliance, security, and governance stakeholders.


Cloud & DevOps

Design and manage cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

Create CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and deployment.

Establish observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards.

Optimize application reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.


Quality Engineering

Define application testing strategies and quality standards.

Develop automated unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression test suites.

Build Playwright-based testing frameworks.

Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure production readiness through rigorous validation processes.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work may change in accordance with business needs. Exempt employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or comparable experience.

8+ years of professional software development experience.

3+ years in a technical leadership, lead engineer, staff engineer, principal engineer, or solutions architect role.

Extensive experience building and deploying modern full-stack web applications.

Deep expertise with browser automation frameworks, preferably Playwright.

Strong understanding of web application architecture and RESTful API design.

Experience integrating AI/LLM-based services into production systems.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Strong knowledge of software security principles and secure development practices.

Proven experience leading complex technical projects from concept to production.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience rebuilding or modernizing legacy enterprise applications.

Experience working with highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.

Microsoft Azure certifications.

AWS certifications.

Solutions Architect certifications.

Experience with enterprise workflow automation platforms.

Experience creating engineering governance frameworks.

Experience leading distributed engineering teams.
