About The Team
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with strong Go (Golang) skills to deliver and operate critical production database services across on-premises and cloud infrastructure. You will own the infrastructure, automation, and operations of multiple mission-critical database platforms (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, MySQL), ensuring seamless, reliable service delivery at scale in hybrid environments. You don't need deep database expertise—we're looking for a talented Go engineer who can master our platform ecosystem and thrive in fast-paced production environments.
About The Role
- Write and maintain production Go code to build and enhance critical database services
- Design and implement features to improve service reliability and delivery across hybrid infrastructure
- Conduct code reviews and collaborate on system design and architecture
- Build and enhance infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
- Improve systems for reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and ensure critical database services meet business needs
- Document architecture decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Mentor team members and share knowledge across the platform team
- Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and retrospectives
- Design and maintain infrastructure and automation to deliver critical production database services across on-premises and cloud platforms
- Build solutions for database provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, and self-service enablement at scale
- Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm) to automate service delivery across hybrid environments
- Develop automation for certificate management, version upgrades, platform migrations, and operational tasks
- Respond to and resolve P1/P2 incidents across all critical production database platforms in both environments
- Troubleshoot service failures, provisioning errors, replication issues, and connectivity problems in hybrid infrastructure
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability improvements to prevent and resolve issues
- Participate in on-call rotation to support mission-critical database services
- Own one or more critical production database service areas to ensure high reliability and availability
- Lead platform improvements including high-availability implementations and disaster recovery enhancements
- Ensure seamless integration and support for critical database services at scale
- Continuously optimize service delivery and reliability across all environments
- 7+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience
- 5+ years of hands-on production Go (Golang) development with strong architectural knowledge
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven track record building end-to-end platform solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Experience supporting mission-critical production services
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm)
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, MySQL)
- Production experience with GCP (GKE, CloudSQL, Secret Manager) and/or other cloud platforms
- Experience deploying and managing services in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, logging systems)
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Relevant cloud certifications (GCP, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Experience with hybrid cloud deployments or multi-environment infrastructure
- Experience with open-source cloud-native projects
- Familiarity with SRE principles and DevOps practices
- GitOps workflows and advanced CI/CD automation experience
- Knowledge of certificate management systems (cert-manager, ACME, PKI)
- Background with managed database services (MongoDB Atlas, AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL)
