The Role
Reporting to the Head of IT, you'll become the technical lead for the bank's Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Assessment platforms.
You'll own the optimisation of detection scenarios, customer risk scoring models, thresholds, and system performance while ensuring the platform remains aligned with evolving AML, CTF, KYC, and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with Compliance, Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders, you'll translate regulatory requirements into practical technical solutions while acting as the technical subject matter expert during audits, regulatory inspections, and internal reviews.
This is an opportunity to combine technology, analytics, compliance, and leadership within one of the bank's most business-critical platforms.

- Developing and tuning transaction monitoring rules, detection scenarios, thresholds, and customer risk scoring models.
- Analysing false positives and implementing improvements without compromising detection effectiveness.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring real-time monitoring capabilities remain effective.
- Testing, validating, and optimising detection models following system updates and regulatory changes.
- Integrating the platform with transaction data feeds, customer databases, regulatory data sources, case management platforms, and reporting tools.
- Using analytics, statistical techniques, and machine learning to improve anomaly detection and customer risk scoring.
- Producing reporting and documentation covering system performance, alert trends, and optimisation activities.
- Maintaining governance, audit trails, and configuration documentation.
- Establishing quality assurance processes to validate system-generated alerts.
- Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive monitoring and rule management activities.
- Working closely with Compliance, Financial Crime, IT, Operations, regulators, vendors, and consultants.
- Acting as the technical SME during audits, regulatory inspections, and internal governance reviews.
- Leading technology teams while driving continuous improvement across the bank's financial crime technology capability.
What You Need To Succeed

- Work across Technology, Compliance, Operations, and senior leadership on strategic regulatory initiatives.
- Influence how financial crime risks are identified through better technology, analytics, and automation.
