About the Role

HCLTech is seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of next-generation Artificial Intelligence solutions. This role will focus on architecting enterprise-scale AI platforms, Large Language Model (LLM) applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and multi-agent AI workflows that drive measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AI/ML architecture, cloud-native technologies, data engineering, and modern generative AI frameworks while serving as a technical leader for cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

AI Solution Architecture

• Design and implement enterprise-scale AI and Generative AI platforms.
• Architect intelligent applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic AI frameworks.
• Develop multi-agent workflows utilizing technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, and related orchestration frameworks.
• Define scalable AI architecture patterns, integration strategies, and deployment models.

Data & Platform Architecture

• Design AI-ready data models and data architectures.
• Establish scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and vector database architectures.
• Ensure data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards are maintained.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data ingestion and retrieval strategies.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Build and deploy AI solutions on cloud platforms including:
• AWS (SageMaker)
• Microsoft Azure AI
• Google Cloud AI
• Architect containerized AI workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Optimize infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Model Governance & Optimization

• Monitor model performance, inference costs, latency, and operational KPIs.
• Establish evaluation frameworks for model quality and reliability.
• Implement strategies to minimize hallucinations and improve AI response accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking and performance testing.

Security & Compliance

• Implement AI security best practices, privacy controls, and responsible AI frameworks.
• Protect sensitive data and prevent data leakage within AI ecosystems.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Strategy

• Partner with business stakeholders to align AI investments with strategic business objectives.
• Lead technical architecture decisions and design reviews.
• Guide engineering teams through technology selection, design trade-offs, and implementation planning.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI architectural best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering and solution architecture experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Strong expertise with:
• Python
• Java
• PyTorch
• TensorFlow
• Experience working with:
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Agentic AI / Multi-Agent Systems
• LangChain
• LangGraph
• Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, vector databases, and AI data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and MLOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying enterprise-scale Generative AI solutions.
• Expertise in prompt engineering, model evaluation, and observability platforms.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, AI governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, Milvus, or similar technologies.
• AI/Cloud certifications from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $ 87,000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $ 160,000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
