Event Technical Designer
Indexed description
work-led: the events and calibre first
- 33 days holiday including Christmas closure
- Private medical insurance
- Company pension
- Collaborative, inclusive culture where your approach shapes how things are built
- Professional growth and development backed by the business
The Company
This is a creative construction specialist working across experiential events, popup retail and TV and film production. The work is genuinely varied in scale and format, and an Event Technical Designer here is never short of interesting problems to solve. The team is built around a shared belief that the best technical solutions come from people who think as well as they draw. Innovation is the operating mode here, not the aspiration.
The Role
The Event Technical Designer sits at the intersection of creative ambition and structural reality, taking client briefs and turning them into comprehensive plans that are both buildable and precise, with CNC fabrication practicality at the centre of every decision, working closely with fabrication and design teams from concept through to shop-ready output.
- Transform client briefs into detailed, shop-ready structural plans
- Lead technical problem-solving across experiential, popup retail and TV and film builds
- Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure CNC practicality throughout
- Produce construction detailing and technical drawings to the highest standard
- Design for CNC and 3D printing processes
- Mentor and develop a team of designers, embedding a problem-solving mindset
- Produce technical reports and present solutions clearly to internal and client stakeholders
The Candidate
The right Event Technical Designer will have a solid background in technical design within creative construction, with hands-on specialist knowledge spanning experiential events, popup retail or TV and film scenic fabrication. You will be comfortable producing construction detailing and shop-ready drawings, and confident working with Rhino and SketchUp to a high level.
If your background sits slightly adjacent, perhaps weighted more heavily toward one sector within creative construction, that is worth exploring. A strong Event Technical Designer in this context brings a methodical, problem-solving approach and the instinct to bring a team along. A commitment to learning new technologies and working at pace in a creative environment will count for a great deal.
Strong holiday, private medical cover and a company pension sit alongside a culture where your technical judgement carries real weight. This is a role that suits an Event Technical Designer ready to take genuine ownership. Interviews are being lined up now, so get your application in and make sure you are considered from the outset.
