About the job:
As a Cloud System Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, automation, monitoring and remediation of applications, systems and architectures deployed in Microsoft Azure. You will work hands-on with cloud, infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure our Azure environments are resilient, up to date, secure and highly available for colleagues and customers.
Functions (duties and responsibilities):
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, DevOps and Network teams to deliver automated-by-default Azure deployments, following CI/CD best practices.
- Own the administration of Azure-based solutions, including automation, patching, monitoring and application remediation.
- Assess current application monitoring and propose improvements, including process automation opportunities.
- Design and implement automated deployment and operable monitoring solutions to build a resilient and controllable cloud environment.
- Ensure end-to-end connectivity across systems and applications.
- Keep servers, applications and platform components up to date, aligned with patching and lifecycle policies.
- Maintain and oversee official inventories of ICT infrastructure and applications.
- Provide hands-on support across the project lifecycle: architecture design, build, deployment, configuration and operations.
- Validate reliability configurations and architectures, producing technical evidence to support compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in Azure administration (experience with other cloud providers is a plus).
- Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, especially from an administration and monitoring perspective.
- Solid understanding of Azure networking: Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets and routing, Network Security Groups (NSG), Azure Firewall (and general firewall concepts), private endpoints, service endpoints and hybrid connectivity.
- Strong experience with identity and access management in Azure, including authentication, authorization and privileged access.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud monitoring (logs, metrics and alerts), and supporting proper CI/CD environments.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), particularly Terraform.
- Ability to read, understand and challenge technical designs and architectures.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and autonomy in technical work.
- Excellent command of English and Spanish (German is a plus).
- Designing and implementing automation, deployment and monitoring systems in Microsoft Azure.
- Working hands-on with Azure services across identity, networking, deployment, alerting and monitoring.
- Automating complex cloud environments, including multi-subscription and hybrid scenarios.
- Building reliable deployment and monitoring foundations for cloud infrastructure.
- Partnering closely with engineering teams to automate cloud architectures and operational processes.
- Documenting and validating technical decisions and configurations affecting exposure, monitoring and security.
