📌 Job description:

On behalf of one of our partners, an industrial company based in Zurich, we are looking for a Cloud Software Architect.

🛠️ Your responsibilities:

• Act as architect in our cloud & infrastructure team and collaborate with Architects from other areas on the overall Architecture.
• Bridge the gab as lead for the cloud & infrastructure squad until when a team lead starts.
• Ensure the teams work is aligned with the overall roadmap and drive the sprint to sprint delivery.
• Design the multi-tenant cloud platform, APIs, and integration patterns that enable secure data exchange between robots, edge, cloud and enterprise
• Stay hands-on in day-to-day delivery: own repositories, contribute PRs, pair with engineers, and turn architectural decisions into merged code and running systems.
• Drive non-functional requirements (availability, latency, scalability, security, cost) and make them measurable
• Set security-by-design standards (IAM, encryption, secrets, network segmentation) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Guide engineering through design reviews, hands-on code reviews, reference architectures, and mentoring to ensure high-quality implementation
• Collaborate with Product, leadership, and solution architects to shape roadmaps and customer integrations
• Balance delivery speed with robustness, reliability, and cost efficiency across environments
• Support transition to industrialization and operations with SRE practices, observability, incident readiness, and hands-on troubleshooting in production when needed

💼 Profile:

Requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience architecting cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, from high-level concept through to implementation (multi-account/tenant, networking, storage, compute)
• Ability to work and deliver fast in a start-up/research environment, adapting designs as requirements evolve
• Strong communication skills to act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for research teams on all cloud-related topics
• Strong hands-on capability: you architect, but you also build, prototype, and troubleshoot alongside the team
• Experience in planning & leading (e.g. sub project management) in a startup/scale up environment
• Experience mentoring and supporting cloud engineers in implementing solutions
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar),container orchestration (Kubernetes),CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling
• Fluent in English
• Based in Switzerland, willing to work on-site in Zurich

• Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
• Additional cloud providers (AWS, GCP)
• On-premises infrastructure
• Cost optimization and cloud governance / landing zone design
• Monitoring & observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor)
• Certificate management or PKI
• Experience integrating with industrial systems (ERP/MES/SCADA) and/or robotics workflows
• IoT environments
• Scrum / agile delivery
