This job is based in Guangzhou or Hong Kong】 We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead end-to-end solution design for a company-wide digital transformation initiative. You will be responsible for re-architecting our monolithic legacy systems into a cloud-native microservices architecture, driving adoption of modern technologies while ensuring business continuity and seamless integration with existing core systems. This is a hands-on role requiring full lifecycle involvement, from discovery and roadmap definition to implementation and go-live. [Transformation Strategy & Planning]

• Lead the assessment of existing legacy systems (on-premise monoliths, outdated databases, legacy integration patterns) to identify technical debt, bottlenecks, and transformation priorities.
• Develop a pragmatic, incremental transformation roadmap that balances business value, risk mitigation, and resource constraints for heavy legacy environment migration.
• Define target architecture principles, standards, and technical guardrails for microservices adoption and new technology integration.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders, product management, and engineering teams to align architecture decisions with business objectives and transformation timelines. [Solution Design & Architecture]
• Design cloud-native, loosely coupled microservices architectures that decouple legacy business capabilities while maintaining backward compatibility for critical legacy workflows.
• Lead the selection, evaluation, and adoption of new technologies (cloud platforms, containerization, service meshes, API gateways, event streaming platforms) aligned with transformation goals.
• Design robust integration patterns (strangler fig pattern, anti-corruption layers, API facades) to enable incremental migration without disrupting ongoing business operations.
• Define data architecture patterns for distributed microservices, including data decomposition, event-driven data synchronization, and eventual consistency models for legacy data migration.
• Address non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, observability, security, compliance) for the new architecture, balancing innovation with enterprise governance requirements. [Implementation & Delivery]
• Partner closely with engineering teams to enforce architecture standards, review technical designs, and resolve complex technical blockers during migration and implementation.
• Lead proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and pilots for new technology adoption to validate design choices and mitigate technical risk before large-scale deployment.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices, and DevOps workflows to support independent microservices deployment in a mixed legacy/modern environment.
• Collaborate with QA and operations teams to define observability, monitoring, and incident response processes for the hybrid architecture.
• Lead post-implementation reviews, continuously refine the architecture, and document design decisions, patterns, and best practices for the broader engineering organization. [Stakeholder & Team Enablement]
• Communicate complex architecture concepts and transformation tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor engineering teams on microservices best practices, cloud-native design principles, and modern technology adoption.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience: 8+ years of software architecture/engineering experience, with minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience leading large-scale legacy modernization and microservices transformation projects in heavy legacy enterprise environments.
• Technical Domain : Deep practical experience decomposing monolithic legacy systems into microservices, with proven track record of delivering production-grade microservices architectures.
• Integration Expertise: Expert knowledge of incremental migration patterns (strangler fig, branch by abstraction, parallel run) and integration patterns for hybrid legacy-modern environments.
• Modern Technology: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/AliCloud/Azure/TencentCloud), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), API gateways, and event-driven architectures (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of distributed system design principles, CAP theorem, eventual consistency, and data architecture patterns for microservices.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to lead cross-functional teams and balance technical tradeoffs in a complex, fast-paced transformation environment. [Preferred Qualifications]
• Experience with strangler fig pattern migration for large enterprise core systems.
• Prior experience in industries with heavy regulatory compliance requirements (finance, healthcare, government).
• Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD) for microservices domain decomposition.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi) and DevOps tooling
• Experience with event sourcing and CQRS patterns.
• Proven experience leading PoCs and driving adoption of new emerging technologies in enterprise environments.
• Relevant cloud architecture certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience working with multi-team distributed engineering teams in agile/Scrum environment.
