Role Overview
Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure Specialist – Datacentre & Cloud to join our Cloud & Datacentre team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise hybrid cloud and datacentre infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.
The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure cloud and on-premises infrastructure while driving automation, infrastructure modernization, and operational improvements. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Datacentre & Cloud team, the Infrastructure Specialist will focus on ensuring the performance, security, and availability of hybrid cloud systems and datacentre services. The role includes implementing new technologies, maintaining infrastructure components, and ensuring systems remain aligned with Client’s IT security and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- It is essential for the staff to have a clear and crisp understanding of RSM’s business, culture, and technology landscape.
- Designs and manages Azure IaaS environments with a strong focus on scalability, security, and availability.
- Implements DevOps practices and Terraform automation to streamline infrastructure provisioning and deployment, ensuring efficient resource management and operational stability.
- Builds and maintains Azure IaaS platforms using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC). Drives DevOps initiatives by automating CI/CD pipelines, optimizing cloud operations, and enhancing system resilience through robust security and compliance frameworks.
- Develops and maintains technical documentation, mapping infrastructure, processes, and governance models for consolidation and operational clarity. Ensures best practices in IT architecture design, automation, and service delivery to support long-term strategic goals
- Provide end-to-end support and enhancement of RSM's hybrid cloud infrastructure, including on-premises datacentres and Azure environments.
- Leads cloud engineering efforts, fostering innovation in hybrid and multi-cloud environments for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Maintain and improve core services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Microsoft systems management tools.
- Work in Agile squads with RSM stakeholders and third-party vendors to deploy infrastructure enhancements.
- Drive knowledge transfer, technical documentation, and mentor junior team members.
- DC Oncall support: Ability to reach either the Crawley or Croydon data centre within 45 minutes to address on any high priority issues / or any urgent critical IT requirement. Provide 24/7 on-call support (On rotation basis) for data centre operations. On-Call & Overtime pay is applicable to meet the Business & IT needs of the client.
Required Skills:
- Proven, hands-on experience in a comparable cloud infrastructure role, involving the design, implementation, and support of IT infrastructure components in public cloud such as servers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms, with a strong track record of delivering reliable and scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Should possess & demonstrate working knowledge on Client’s Business applications & IT portfolio, and should have understanding on ServiceNow ticketing tool
- Strong expertise in Azure DevOps along with Terraform, Windows Server Environments and infrastructure administration
- Proficiency with Azure AD, SSO/MFA, RBAC, and identity federation protocols (SAML, LDAP)
- Practical scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell).
- Working understanding of networking fundamentals (firewalls, subnets, routing).
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Drive documentation standards, create runbooks, and contribute to knowledge management for future scalability.
- Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and infrastructure resilience improvements.
- Define and maintain cloud and data centre architecture principles, reference models, and implementation roadmaps.
- Provide architectural assurance for infrastructure change requests and new project designs.
- Develop cost-efficient, secure, and performant cloud infrastructure solutions in Azure and private environments.
- Align with Client’s cybersecurity and compliance standards, especially related to identity management and privileged access control

Desirable Skills, are added advantage:
- Should possess & demonstrate working knowledge on Client’s Business applications & IT portfolio, and should have understanding on ServiceNow ticketing tool
- Exposure to agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Experience with ITIL-based service delivery and change management.
- Azure certifications e.g. AZ-104, AZ-305.
