The Cloud Security Engineer plays a critical role in the design, engineering, implementation, and operational support of the firm's multi-cloud infrastructure strategy across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the foundational cloud services, security controls, networking architecture, identity solutions, automation frameworks, and platform integrations that enable secure, scalable, and resilient cloud adoption across the enterprise.
As the organization continues to expand its cloud footprint and integrate acquired businesses, this role is essential to ensuring consistent governance, operational excellence, and security across diverse cloud environments. The Cloud Security Engineer serves as a key technical leader responsible for reducing risk, accelerating cloud adoption, enabling developer productivity, and supporting critical business initiatives through standardized cloud platforms and automation.
What You’ll Do In The Role
- Design, implement, and manage foundational cloud services across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including landing zones, organizational structures, identity and access management, networking, security services, and shared platform capabilities.
- Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures aligned with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Build and automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, and associated CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with Security, Networking, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, Application Development, and Operations teams to deliver secure-by-design cloud solutions.
- Establish and maintain cloud governance, guardrails, monitoring, logging, and compliance controls across all supported cloud service providers.
- Drive cloud modernization, standardization, and integration initiatives across new business acquisitions and legacy environments to ensure alignment with enterprise cloud operating models.
- Support developer enablement through the creation of reusable platform services, automation capabilities, reference architectures, and self-service cloud solutions.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and operational issues across multi-cloud environments.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend strategic improvements that enhance security, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with risk, audit, compliance, and regulatory teams to support assessments, control validation, remediation activities, and evidence collection.
- Contribute to cloud strategy, architecture reviews, technical standards, and long-term platform roadmaps.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and services.
- Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, with the ability to operate across multiple cloud providers.
- Strong experience with cloud networking, identity, security architecture, and governance models.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation technologies including Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting highly regulated environments and working with audit, compliance, and security control frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, DevSecOps practices, monitoring, observability, and operational resiliency.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex cloud transformation, migration, and integration efforts.
