Cloud Solution Engineer – Infrastructure, Security & AI

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Engineer to join the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure team. This customer-facing role combines solution architecture, technical presales, workload sizing, proof-of-concept delivery, and cloud adoption support.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, security, cloud-native technologies, and emerging AI services, preferably on OCI.

Key Responsibilities :

Solution Architecture and Presales

• Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Design OCI architectures for enterprise, hybrid-cloud, multi-cloud, and multi-region workloads.
• Partner with sales teams throughout the sales cycle and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops, demonstrations, proposals, and solution documentation.
• Engage with senior technical stakeholders and C-level executives where required.

Sizing, Proof of Concept, and Deployment

• Assess workloads and perform infrastructure sizing, capacity planning, and cost estimation.
• Recommend appropriate compute, storage, networking, security, database, and managed services.
• Lead proofs of concept to validate architecture, integration, security, and performance.
• Support customers from initial design through deployment, production readiness, and adoption.
• Use scripting, command-line tools, SDKs, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code to automate deployments.

Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud-Native Technologies

• Design and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, identity, security, observability, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
• Build resilient application platforms using containers, Kubernetes, microservices, API gateways, service discovery, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Select suitable managed services, automation patterns, monitoring controls, and operational best practices.

Networking and Security

• Design OCI networking solutions using VCNs, subnets, NSGs, VPN, FastConnect, load balancing, DNS, and traffic management.
• Implement secure connectivity across OCI, on-premises environments, and other cloud providers.
• Design security controls covering IAM, network security, application security, encryption, key management, data protection, logging, and monitoring.
• Ensure alignment with security best practices, governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

AI Infrastructure and Services

• Understand customer AI, machine learning, and Generative AI use cases.
• Apply foundational knowledge of training, inference, large language models, embeddings, vector search, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
• Assess infrastructure requirements for AI workloads, including GPU compute, high-performance storage, networking, scalability, security, and cost.
• Recommend suitable OCI AI services and architectures based on performance, data, privacy, and governance requirements.
• Promote responsible AI practices and identify common security and deployment risks.

Collaboration and Thought Leadership

• Collaborate with sales, engineering, product, security, and delivery teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams and customers.
• Create reusable technical assets such as reference architectures, solution code, white papers, blogs, and demonstrations.
• Capture customer feedback and help influence product and engineering roadmaps.
• Stay current with developments in cloud, security, networking, cloud-native, and AI technologies.

Core Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge of cloud compute, storage, networking, identity, security, observability, high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Hands-on experience provisioning and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure using consoles, command-line tools, SDKs, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Working knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, microservices, API gateways, service discovery, and CI/CD.
• Advanced understanding of cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, routing, segmentation, load balancing, VPN, and dedicated connectivity.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, encryption, key management, security monitoring, governance, and compliance.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI concepts and infrastructure requirements.
• Experience in cloud solution architecture, technical presales, consulting, or a similar customer-facing role.
• Strong presentation, communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in cloud engineering, solution architecture, technical presales, infrastructure, security, or a related technology domain.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience with hybrid-cloud, multi-cloud, or multi-region architectures.
• Experience delivering proofs of concept and production cloud deployments.
• Relevant cloud, networking, security, Kubernetes, AI, or architecture certifications.
