Lead Software Engineer / Cloud Architect - AWS

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer / Cloud Architect to design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a hands-on technical role that requires close collaboration with customers, technical teams, and stakeholders to deliver cloud architectures that support mission-critical operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS cloud development, solution architecture, and cloud deployment best practices, along with an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-based applications using AWS.
• Develop cloud architectures aligned with business and technical requirements while following AWS best practices.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements and recommend appropriate cloud solutions.
• Create architecture documentation, implementation roadmaps, and technical design artifacts.
• Develop deployment strategies and support the evolution of cloud platforms over time.
• Produce clear technical documentation to support design, implementation, and operational processes.
• Present technical concepts and architectural recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
• Support multiple mission-critical initiatives while adapting to changing priorities and project requirements.
• Ensure cloud environments are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant professional experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD IAT Level II certification), or the ability to obtain it within 80 days of hire.
• Strong experience developing cloud-native applications and solutions on AWS.
• Experience preparing and presenting cloud architecture designs and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting onsite or field-based technical environments.
• Familiarity with the IATT and ATO certification process.
• Experience automating EC2 deployments and configuration.
• Knowledge of high-side AWS environments and the C2S Access Portal (CAP).
• Experience configuring GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated cloud deployments.
• Strong understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture, automation, and infrastructure deployment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within collaborative, cross-functional teams.
