What You'll Be Doing
- Technical Leadership & Solution Architecture:
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale Snowflake data platforms"
- Define target-state data architectures, platform standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across complex client engagements
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale cloud data transformation and modernization initiatives
- Drive architectural decisions focused on scalability, performance, security, data governance, reliability, and cost optimization
- Client Advisory & Consulting:
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders
- Facilitate architecture workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design engagements
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing Snowflake solutions
- Present solution architectures, implementation roadmaps, and strategic recommendations to executive audiences
- Snowflake Platform Expertise:
- Design and implement advanced Snowflake capabilities, including Snowpark, Data Sharing, Secure Data Sharing, Zero-Copy Cloning, Time Travel, Streams & Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and platform optimization features
- Establish standards and best practices for workload management, virtual warehouses, resource monitoring, performance tuning, and data lifecycle management
- Drive platform governance, operational excellence, and cost management strategies
- Data Platform Modernization:
- Lead enterprise-wide migrations from legacy data warehouse platforms to Snowflake
- Define migration strategies, target-state data models, ELT/ETL frameworks, and deployment approaches
- Enable cloud-native modernization initiatives across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Delivery & Program Leadership:
- Provide technical oversight and governance across multiple concurrent projects and workstreams
- Support delivery teams in resolving complex technical and architectural challenges
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
- Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core required; Advanced certifications highly desirable)
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Cloud Data Platform delivery
- Minimum 5+ years of experience designing enterprise Snowflake architectures
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale cloud data transformation programs
- Strong consulting background with experience working directly with senior business and technology stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise across the Snowflake platform, including Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, Streams & Tasks, Secure Data Sharing, Zero-Copy Cloning, Time Travel, and Data Marketplace
- Strong experience optimizing Snowflake performance, query efficiency, resource utilization, and overall platform costs
- Solid understanding of role-based access control (RBAC), security frameworks, and data governance best practices
- Proven experience designing and delivering data solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably using Terraform
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and automation for modern data platforms
- Advanced SQL expertise and proficiency in Python or Java for data engineering solutions
- Extensive experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and frameworks
- Experience using orchestration and workflow tools such as Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, or similar technologies
- Strong background in Enterprise Data Warehousing and modern Data Lake/Lakehouse architectures
- Experience designing scalable data models using Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault, and Medallion Architecture approaches
- Solid understanding of metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data quality practices
- Proven ability to lead architecture initiatives and drive technical decision-making
- Experience managing and mentoring distributed technical teams
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at both technical and executive levels
- Demonstrated capability to align technology strategies with business objectives and organizational priorities
- Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including RFP responses, solution estimation, and technical proposal development
