Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic IT Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategy for a global semiconductor manufacturer. This role will drive cloud adoption, enterprise workload migration, and modernization initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives, security requirements, compliance standards, and cost efficiency.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across cloud platforms, strong financial acumen, and the ability to influence executive stakeholders in support of cloud-first strategies. This position also supports AI/ML-enabled cloud capabilities, secure delivery automation, and architecture decisions for regulated and security-sensitive environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and govern scalable, secure, and resilient architectures across AWS and Azure environments, with a roadmap aligned to business, security, and operational objectives.
- Architect compliant environments supporting requirements such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and ITAR, with strong controls for Zero Trust, segmentation, encryption, identity, and audit readiness.
- Lead end-to-end migration and modernization initiatives, including assessment, design, execution, and optimization, while minimizing risk and enabling cloud-native capabilities.
- Design and operate hybrid environments that integrate on-premises and cloud platforms, aligned with enterprise networking, identity, and systems architecture.
- Enable automated, secure delivery through CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices such as Terraform and Bicep, embedding security into development workflows.
- Design and support cloud architectures for AI/ML workloads, including model training, inference, and high-performance compute, while ensuring compliance, governance, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with application teams to modernize workloads using cloud-native and microservices architectures.
- Present architectural strategies and business cases to technical teams, leadership, and executive stakeholders.
- Drive organizational adoption of cloud solutions and secure buy-in from senior leadership.
- Evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI/ML platforms and models such as Claude, OpenAI, or similar solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on cloud architecture.
- Proven success migrating enterprise workloads to cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience designing hybrid cloud architectures.
- Strong foundation in networking, including VPCs, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Strong systems administration experience across Windows and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of storage technologies including SAN, NAS, object storage, and backup and recovery.
- Experience in multi-cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, and CloudFormation.
- Strong development knowledge, including Python or similar scripting languages.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of influencing and obtaining executive-level buy-in.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Preferred experience includes AI/ML integration in cloud environments, cloud bursting for EDA workloads, knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards, and experience supporting regulated or security-sensitive environments.
