Technical Lead, Pre-Sales — Cloud & Security (DACH)
If you've spent the last five-plus years in a customer-facing technical role — solving hard infrastructure problems live in front of clients rather than in a ticket queue — this is probably a more interesting next step than another "Senior Engineer" title.
We're an established international technology partner that helps large enterprises modernize and secure their cloud and web infrastructure, working across a broad portfolio of specialist platforms in cloud security, performance, DevOps, and cost optimization. Execution is entirely in-house — no offshored delivery, no black-box vendor relationships.
We're hiring a technical leader to own the DACH region: the person customers and sales teams turn to when a deal needs real technical credibility, not just a slide deck.
What you'll actually do:
- Drive technical strategy in the pre-sales process — design recommendations, architecture decisions, and the "why this works" conversations that close deals
- Own technical relationships with a portfolio of enterprise cloud customers, from mid-market to the largest names in the region
- Design and run large-scale cloud infrastructure projects, not just scope them
- Spot and develop new business opportunities inside existing accounts
- Report account health and project status internally with real visibility into revenue impact
- Provide technical leadership to project management and pre-sales staff — with minimal supervision, not a lot of hand-holding
What you bring:
- Fluent German and English (Spanish is a genuine plus, not a checkbox)
- 5+ years in a technical, customer-facing role spanning SaaS/cloud environments, ideally with exposure to both mid-market and enterprise-scale engagements
- Deep hands-on experience in at least one of: CDN/WAAP platforms (including migrations off legacy providers), Zero Trust security architectures, hyperscaler environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), edge compute, or DevOps
- Working scripting/coding ability (Python, Shell, JavaScript or similar) — bonus if you've already integrated AI coding agents into your workflow
- The ability to explain a complex architecture decision to a CFO and a senior engineer in the same afternoon, without dumbing it down for either
What this role offers:
- A seat at the table where technical decisions actually shape commercial outcomes — not a support function bolted onto sales
- Direct ownership of a region, not a slice of an account list someone else built
- Working across 100+ specialist technologies rather than being boxed into one vendor's roadmap
