- Architect for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across production-critical applications
- Establish and enforce cloud security standards, including IAM, Key Vault, network security groups, and compliance controls appropriate for a manufacturing environment
- Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or ARM/Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines for consistent, repeatable deployments
- Optimize cloud spend through right-sizing, reserved capacity planning, and cost governance
- Provide architectural oversight for integrations between cloud platforms and on-prem manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, SCADA/OT where applicable)
- Mentor engineering staff on Azure best practices and serve as an escalation point for complex architecture and performance issues
- Document architecture decisions, standards, and reference designs for the broader technology organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure engineering, with at least 4+ years in a dedicated cloud architecture role
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Landing Zones, networking, IAM, AKS, and Azure Monitor
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates)
- Experience architecting for high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery in production environments
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Solid understanding of cloud security and governance frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and their cloud integration patterns
- Exposure to OT/IT convergence, plant-floor connectivity, or SCADA/MES environments
- Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate)
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures (Azure + on-prem/VMware)
