Senior Platform Engineer

Location: New York City (on-site, 5 days) |Salary: $230,000–$275,000 + equity

An AI healthcare company in New York is hiring senior platform engineers to build the backbone that the rest of engineering builds on. This is deep platform work: designing the runtime, the developer framework, and the data model that let application teams ship complex, long-running processes as clean, strongly-typed code.

At the heart of the system is a distributed, replayable architecture where every change is captured as an immutable record and rebuilt into read models on demand. You'll shape how that execution engine behaves, how its state is stored and queried, and how engineers interact with it through a well-designed SDK.

What we're looking for

• Several years of senior engineering with real depth in distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with append-only or log-based architectures, command-query separation, or replayable state
• Advanced TypeScript, including the type system itself, and an eye for API and SDK ergonomics
• Comfort designing schemas, code generation, and the abstractions other engineers rely on
• A track record of shipping and operating what you build, not just designing it
• You need to be a strong engineer who codes. The process includes a live coding exercise and a system design round.

Helpful, not required

• Background in workflow engines, durable execution, or orchestration platforms
• Exposure to healthcare data standards or other regulated environments
• Experience with agent or LLM-driven systems

The essentials

This role is on-site five days a week in Midtown Manhattan. There's no hybrid option. Hours are flexible but being in the room is not.

Compensation is $230,000 to $275,000 depending on experience, plus meaningful early-stage equity. Benefits include fully covered medical, dental and vision.
