AI Engineer – Generative AI & Full Stack Development

A global life sciences organisation is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join an AI-first product team focused on building and scaling intelligent digital solutions across clinical and operational workflows.

This role combines Generative AI, Agentic AI, full-stack software engineering and cloud development, with the opportunity to build production-grade AI applications in a highly regulated enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will help shape how AI-powered products are designed, developed, deployed and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate AI-native applications and platforms, including custom solutions and AI-enabled SaaS products.
• Develop secure, scalable full-stack applications using Python, Java, Node.js and React.
• Build and enhance applications on the Salesforce platform.
• Develop production-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions using technologies such as OpenAI, AWS Bedrock and LangChain.
• Design LLM-powered workflows incorporating human-in-the-loop processes, monitoring, governance and continuous improvement.
• Integrate microservices, APIs, MCPs, event-driven architectures and middleware into enterprise environments.
• Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to identify opportunities to use AI for automation, decision-making and operational improvement.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Monitor AI model performance, including model drift, retraining and rollback strategies.
• Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for data governance, privacy, security and compliance.
• Work collaboratively across technology, product and business teams in a complex, highly matrixed organisation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing Generative AI and Agentic AI applications.
• Experience with frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Google ADK or similar.
• Strong proficiency in Python and React, with Java or TypeScript experience advantageous.
• Experience with REST APIs, MCPs, FastAPI and JSON/XML.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Bedrock and SageMaker.
• Strong SQL/NoSQL database and data analytics capabilities.
• Experience developing and deploying software through established SDLC processes.
• Experience working in a regulated environment is highly desirable; life sciences or pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across a matrixed organisation.

Compensation: $94,180–$114,124 base salary, with additional incentive opportunities subject to eligibility
