Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance portfolio implementation platforms that incorporate research outputs, perform constrained portfolio optimizations, and automate order workflows.
- Own the architecture and continuous improvement of distributed, microservice-driven systems utilizing technologies such as Java, Python, Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Lead technical solution design for high-throughput, high-availability systems, balancing performance, flexibility, and maintainability.
- Execute complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple services and engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams (typically 2-5 members) through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on guidance.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and global engineering teams to deliver production-grade solutions on schedule.
- Implement best practices for software quality, automated testing, and code review, while optimizing system performance and observability.
- Monitor, analyze, and tune system performance, leveraging tools such as New Relic and other metrics platforms to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Lead risk management, technical change management, and estimation efforts for complex projects.
Core Qualifications
- :Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- .7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on Java development
- .Proven experience in building, operating, and scaling large-scale, distributed, microservice architectures
- .Extensive knowledge of Python in production or research-supporting environments
- .Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server
- .Proficiency in engineering best practices including code quality, design documentation, peer reviews, and automated testing
- .Demonstrated ability to tune and optimize high-performance, real-time systems
- .Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and incident management platforms (e.g., New Relic)
