Job Title: Software Engineer
Duration: long-term contract
Location: Hybrid (x3 days from Sheffield)
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience to design, build, and support scalable microservices in a modern DevOps environment. You will work closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software, resolve production issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to deliver technical solutions.
- Own the software lifecycle from development to deployment.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Improve system reliability, security, and observability.
- Mentor junior engineers and support Agile delivery.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or Clojure.
- Experience with microservices, DevOps, and Agile.
- Knowledge of HTTP, DNS, TLS, API Gateways, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with Grafana, and production support.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and AWS/Azure/GCP is a plus.
