In this senior engineering role, you will help design nd build systems that translate research insights into live trading activity. You’ll collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, production-grade platforms that support systematic investment workflows.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer focused on portfolio implementation systems, you will take ownership of key components within the investment technology stack, including:
- Designing and building platforms that take research signals, apply portfolio constraints and optimizations, and generate executable trading orders
- Leading development of distributed, microservice-based systems operating at high scale and high reliability requirements
- Defining architectural approaches for performance-sensitive systems, balancing trade-offs across speed, flexibility, and maintainability
- Driving delivery of cross-functional engineering initiatives spanning multiple services and teams
- Providing technical leadership to small engineering groups (typically 2–5 engineers), including design guidance, planning, and execution oversight
- Mentoring engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and hands-on technical coaching
- Partnering with global teams across research, portfolio management, and engineering to deliver robust production systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Java Production or research-environment experience using Python
- Strong track record of designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Experience with microservice architectures and related technologies such as Java-based services, search/indexing tools, in-memory data stores, messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ), and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server)
- Strong engineering fundamentals: clean code practices, design documentation, peer review discipline, and automated testing
- Experience tuning and operating high-performance systems in production environme
- ntsFamiliarity with observability/monitoring tools and using metrics to improve system reliability and performance
- Ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end, including risk management and delivery planning
- Experience breaking down requirements into technical specifications and actionable work plans
- Strong interest in financial markets and systematic investment processes
