F# developer - Oslo

As a senior developer, you will be involved in the design, research, and development of new applications, and major enhancements to existing ones. You will also be expected to provide guidance to developers, testers, and support staff. The ideal candidate should have experience in leading software development projects, and may provide Technical Excellence Leadership for more than one team, providing expert guidance to software developers and support staff.

You will be responsible for guiding staff regarding application security standards, secure coding practices, and secure architecture designs. You will also contribute product planning for a complete software system. The role requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 10 years of experience including software development experience.

The candidate must be able to work on-site in Oslo, with some opportunities to work remotely.

Qualifications & Experience

• Design, implement, and maintain core services and libraries in F#.
• Contribute to the architecture and scalability of our cloud-based platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features from concept to production.
• Ensure high standards of code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices.
• Mentor other engineers and foster adoption of functional programming patterns.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize workloads on Azure.

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with significant expertise in F#.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong background in functional programming principles and patterns.
• Experience building scalable, distributed, or data-intensive applications.
• Proven track record of developing production-grade software with high quality and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., App Services, Functions, Service Bus, AKS, storage).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and cloud-native development.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Experience with .NET ecosystem more broadly (C#, libraries, interop).
• Knowledge of scientific computing, modeling, or geoscience applications.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, Pulumi, etc.).
