Backend / Full-Stack Engineer
New York City | Full-Time
We’re working with a number of high-growth technology companies in New York City that are looking to hire experienced Backend and Full-Stack Engineers.
You’ll be joining fast-paced, product-led engineering teams where you’ll work closely with other engineers, product teams, and founders to build and scale modern technology platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Develop reliable, production-grade applications and infrastructure
- Own features and technical projects from design through deployment
- Build and integrate APIs, services, databases, and third-party systems
- Work across backend and frontend applications where required
- Contribute to system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Build cloud-based applications and improve deployment and observability
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ship new features
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems across production environments
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend engineering experience
- Experience building and maintaining production applications
- Strong programming experience with one or more of: Python, Rust, TypeScript / Node.js
- Full-stack experience with technologies such as: React, TypeScript, Next.js
- Experience designing and working with APIs
- Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS
- Good understanding of software architecture and system design
- Experience working with distributed or scalable systems
- Comfortable taking ownership and working in a fast-moving environment
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with FastAPI
- Experience building distributed, event-driven, or high-performance systems
- Experience with AI, LLM, or data-intensive applications
- Experience with infrastructure, observability, or DevOps tooling
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Previous startup or scale-up experience
- Experience working across both backend and frontend systems
- Exposure to fintech, digital assets, or other technically complex products
