Your Impact

As a Software Engineering Technical Leader, you will drive the technical vision and execution for complex security policy and access solutions that safeguard enterprise networks globally. You will leverage your deep expertise in systems programming using C, C++, and Java to architect and develop robust, scalable software. By providing technical leadership, you will mentor peers, guide architectural decisions, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. Your work will directly contribute to Cisco's mission by ensuring our network access solutions are secure, programmable, and highly reliable. You will also champion software programmability and integrate automation and orchestration practices to streamline development and enhance product performance, ultimately empowering our customers to connect with confidence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience in systems programming with complex codebases using C, C++, or Java
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineering teams Experience in software programmability and developing scalable software architectures
  • Experience implementing automation and orchestration within the software development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of network security, certificate validation, and threat modeling
  • Hands-on experience with cryptography, TLS internals, or Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC)
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding
  • Understanding of modern attack methods
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design choices to cross-functional partners
