Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Groovy scripting solutions within the LabVantage LIMS environment to support laboratory workflows and business requirements.
- Translate complex Excel-based formulas, scientific calculations, and mathematical equations into accurate and maintainable Groovy scripts.
- Develop and enhance computational logic to support laboratory calculations, including complex equations and decay correction processes where applicable.
- Collaborate with business users, laboratory subject matter experts, and technical teams to analyze requirements and implement appropriate scripting solutions.
- Support the integration of Groovy-based business logic into existing laboratory workflows and system functionality.
- Participate in system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and refinement of scripting solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in configuring laboratory specifications, control limits, and instrument performance monitoring using the Statistical Process Control (SPC) module.
- Validate calculation logic and ensure compliance with established laboratory standards, quality requirements, and system specifications.
- Troubleshoot scripting issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate resolutions.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to scripting solutions, calculations, and system configurations.
- Participate in code reviews and support application enhancements, upgrades, and production support activities.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience developing and implementing Groovy scripting solutions, preferably within LabVantage LIMS or a comparable Laboratory Information Management System.
- Demonstrated experience translating complex Excel-based formulas, scientific calculations, and mathematical equations into Groovy script.
- Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret, validate, and implement complex computational logic, including decay corrections.
- Experience integrating scripted logic into enterprise applications and supporting iterative testing, validation, and business user acceptance activities.
- Proven ability to develop accurate, maintainable, and high-performing computational solutions within regulated or data-sensitive environments.
- Deep proficiency in both Groovy and Java (8 through 11+), with a strong understanding of JVM mechanics
- Experience configuring laboratory specifications, control limits, and instrument monitoring using the Statistical Process Control (SPC) module.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and application support.
- Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Technical Skills
- LabVantage LIMS or comparable Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Groovy scripting development and implementation

- Experience working in regulated, quality-driven, or data-sensitive environments
- Agile/Scrum development methodologies (preferred)
- Public sector and compliance automation experience (preferred)
