Our challenge:

We are seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Java Full Stack Developer with hands-on Generative AI expertise to design, develop, and deploy intelligent, scalable applications and developer productivity solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Java, React or Angular, TypeScript, and Python, along with a solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud platforms, and modern software delivery practices. This role requires practical experience using Devin, Claude/Anthropic models, Cursor, and similar AI-powered developer tools to build GenAI-enabled solutions and autonomous engineering workflows.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $130k - $140k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React or Angular, TypeScript, and Python.

Design and implement GenAI-powered solutions using tools and platforms such as:

• Devin
• Claude Code and Anthropic models
• Cursor and comparable AI-assisted development tools

• Build scalable applications based on microservices, event-driven, and distributed systems architectures.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, event streams, external services, and enterprise systems.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, including document ingestion, embeddings, vector search, retrieval, and response generation.
• Develop agent-based workflows capable of tool usage, orchestration, decision-making, and autonomous execution.
• Design and implement multi-agent architectures for complex business and engineering use cases.
• Build and integrate MCP servers and Model Context Protocol-based tools and services.
• Develop agentic services that support tool chaining, workflow orchestration, and decision-driven execution across multiple systems.
• Integrate Large Language Models into enterprise applications while addressing security, scalability, reliability, observability, and cost optimization.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, developer tooling, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging developments in Generative AI, agentic systems, LLM platforms, and AI-assisted software development.

Requirements:

• Strong full-stack engineering experience with: Java and Spring Boot
• React or Angular
• TypeScript and JavaScript
• Python
• Experience designing and developing: Distributed systems
• RESTful and event-driven APIs
• Microservices architectures
• Asynchronous and message-driven applications
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and developer productivity tooling.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, caching, messaging, and event-streaming technologies.

GenAI and LLM Expertise — Required

• Hands-on experience using Devin or comparable autonomous AI software engineering platforms.
• Experience working with Claude, Anthropic models, Claude Code, or similar LLM platforms.
• Practical experience with AI-powered developer tools, including Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding and practical application of: Prompt engineering
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Embeddings and vector databases
• Agent-based workflows and tool usage
• Multi-agent architectures
• MCP servers and integrations
• Agentic services and autonomous AI workflows
• Workflow orchestration and tool chaining
• Decision-driven execution across enterprise systems
• Ability to evaluate LLM outputs, improve reliability, and implement appropriate guardrails, validation, and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Understanding of LLM security, privacy, responsible AI practices, and protection against prompt injection and data leakage.
