Job Outline:
We are looking for an SDET to join our Engineering Team. This is a diverse role and we are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality, reliable software and will drive to ensure an exceptional user experience; who is interested in working in the fintech and start-up industry.
This role will be based in our Cardiff or Manchester office ideally, but would consider UK based remote.
Day to day you will:
- Designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks for our web platform.
- Working closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers from design to deployment to embed quality early in the lifecycle.
- Identifying, logging, and tracking bugs and regressions, ensuring clear communication of severity and resolution steps.
- Integrating automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality and fast feedback loops.
- Using AI (Claude and Github Copilot) to implement efficiently.
- Performing API, performance, and cross-browser automation testing to guarantee ecosystem stability.
- Participating in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and tech spike discussions to keep up to date with product actions.
- Proven commercial experience in an Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role.
- Strong programming skills in modern languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium).
- Solid experience with API testing tools and libraries (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, Supertest).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins) and security scanning (Trivy).
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Extremely organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload and manage your time effectively.
- Salary up to £55,000 (DOE)
