Opportunity Overview
NOCD is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong software engineering background to help build, deploy, and scale the cloud platform powering our digital behavioral health products.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and operating the infrastructure that enables our backend services to run reliably at scale. You'll build internal platform capabilities, improve deployment automation, enhance observability, and partner closely with backend engineers to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable systems.
We're looking for someone who enjoys writing production-quality code, automating infrastructure, improving developer productivity, and solving challenging distributed systems problems.
What You'll Do
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Develop internal platform tooling that improves developer productivity
- Build and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure and containerized workloads
- Improve deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Design highly available, scalable cloud architectures
- Improve platform security, reliability, and operational excellence
- Build monitoring, logging, and observability solutions across the platform
- Troubleshoot production issues across cloud infrastructure and backend services
- Continuously optimize cloud cost, performance, and scalability
Software Engineering
- Develop internal services and automation using Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar languages
- Build tooling, APIs, and automation that support engineering workflows
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested production code
Collaboration
- Partner with Backend Engineers, Product Engineers, and Engineering Leadership
- Improve engineering standards and infrastructure best practices
- Participate in production support and incident response
- Help shape the future direction of NOCD's cloud platform
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience
- Strong programming experience with Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar backend languages
- Experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Experience using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar)
- Experience building automation, developer tooling, or internal platform services
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
- Experience supporting production applications at scale
- Experience with Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, or similar backend technologies
- Experience working in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
- Experience improving platform reliability, deployment automation, and developer experience
- Experience with AI infrastructure, ML platforms, or distributed data processing is a plus

Compensation for this role ranges from $130,000-170,000 annually. Actual pay will be based on the individual’s qualifications and experience.
