About the Role
- We're building the software that powers one of the largest retailers in the world. Every day, millions of customers rely on our digital experiences while hundreds of thousands of associates depend on our technology to efficiently fulfill orders and serve customers.
- We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale the large-scale distributed systems behind our fulfillment platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys complex distributed systems problems, designs resilient cloud-native services, and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- You'll work alongside product managers, architects, engineering managers, and engineers on other teams to build highly available services operating at enterprise scale.

Required Qualificatio
- ns6+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend application
- s.Strong production experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including asynchronous patterns and runtime performance characteristic
- s.Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems in production environment
- s.Deep understanding of microservice architecture and event-driven application desig
- n.Hands-on experience building and operating asynchronous, message-based systems. You should be able to speak concretely about idempotency, out-of-order delivery, retry and dead-letter handling, and consumer lag, from systems you have run rather than read abou
- t.Experience developing and maintaining RESTful API
- s.Experience with NoSQL databases, including partitioning and consistency tradeoff
- s.Hands-on experience building applications on Microsoft Azur
