About The Role
As a Principal Java Engineer at GTI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our core SaaS platform. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the architecture, engineering standards, and best practices that underpin our applications. This is a strategic leadership position that requires deep technical expertise, a proactive approach, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct management responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with Product, Data, Operations, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions that meet current and future business requirements. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving technical excellence, operational stability, and continuous innovation across our platform.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Extensive experience in Java software development with a strong background in technical leadership
- Expert knowledge of Java, JVM performance tuning, and modern language features
- Deep understanding of Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and enterprise application architecture
- Experience with distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and performance optimization
- Proficiency in cloud-native applications, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Solid knowledge of application security principles, OWASP guidelines, and secure SDLC practices
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Angular or equivalent
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills
- Provide technical leadership for GTI's core SaaS platform, defining architecture and engineering standards
- Own the application architecture and technical strategy across multiple products and services
- Design, develop, review, and optimize high-quality Java and full-stack solutions, APIs, and integrations
- Lead initiatives to enhance system performance, scalability, and resilience
- Implement security best practices, address vulnerabilities, and oversee secure software development lifecycle
- Collaborate with Data, Operations, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure architectural consistency and operational excellence
- Guide and mentor engineering teams to ensure adherence to standards and continuous improvement
- Define and enforce engineering practices, conduct design and code reviews, and promote maintainability
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues to ensure system reliability
- Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, and operational performance metrics
- Partner with cross-functional teams to meet reliability, availability, and performance targets
