Full-Stack Engineer – Gaming Applications


📍 Athens, Greece (Hybrid – flexible 2/3 or 3/2 office/home split)

💼 4–7 years' experience

💰 Salary: €40,000 – €60,000 Gross Annually (14 salaries)


Our client, an international organisation operating within the online gaming sector, is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Engineer to help deliver a suite of bespoke gaming products. This is a hands-on role focused on building reliable, transactional applications from concept through to production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop backend game logic, maths engine integrations, bet placement and settlement flows, and game state management.
  • Build end-to-end solutions including REST APIs, databases, background processing services, and front-end interfaces.
  • Design responsive player-facing applications and internal admin tools.
  • Integrate with Player Account Management (PAM) platforms, including authentication, wallet operations, and settlement processes.
  • Ensure transactional integrity through robust handling of retries, reconciliation, rollbacks, and audit trails.
  • Design and optimise database schemas for game state, reporting, and transaction history.
  • Support deployments, monitoring, logging, and technical documentation.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience delivering production-grade applications.
  • Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI).
  • Front-end experience using React and/or Next.js, with working knowledge of TypeScript.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL or MySQL/MariaDB, including schema design and query optimisation.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication, idempotency, webhooks, and error handling.
  • Experience with Git, Docker, CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins), and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.


Nice to Have

  • Experience within online betting, gaming, or gambling environments.
  • Background job frameworks such as Celery/Redis or Spring Batch.
  • Exposure to AWS, Railway, or Render.
  • Experience with PAM integrations, payment systems, or external platform vendors.
