Senior Streaming Platform Engineer

StagePilot is adding an experienced senior software engineer to play a key role in developing cloud-based live streaming tools. In this role, you’ll work across multiple layers of the system: building intuitive user interfaces, developing scalable backend services, supporting real-time media workflows, and helping optimize the infrastructure that powers live event experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based live streaming workflows
• Work with media tools and frameworks such as FFmpeg, OBS, or similar technologies to support video-related workflows
• Integrate and maintain systems that support ingest, processing, monitoring, and delivery of live media
• Work with AWS or similar cloud services to deploy, monitor, scale, and secure streaming infrastructure
• Collaborate directly with product, design, operations, and live event teams to build modern UI features and improve the operator/client experience
• Provide engineering support during live events to ensure broadcast quality and rapid troubleshooting

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience related to live streaming, broadcast, media infrastructure, or real-time systems
• Strong understanding of live video transport protocols such as SRT, RTMP, RTMPS, HLS, WebRTC, or related streaming technologies
• Hands-on experience with FFmpeg, OBS, or other live media / multimedia tooling
• Experience with cloud-based container infrastructure such as AWS ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, Fargate, EC2, or similar services

Bonus Points

• Experience building or operating cloud streaming, remote production, virtual broadcast, or cloud OBS-style platforms
• Experience building dashboards for live production control, stream health, and event operations
• Experience optimizing live video workloads using GPU-backed cloud servers, hardware encoding, or NVIDIA NVENC
