Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with Cloud Run, Cloud Monitoring, and building CI/CD pipelines for Blazor applications, along with solid experience managing databases, supporting front-end deployments, and handling DNS/domain configuration. You will work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure our applications are reliable, scalable, secure, and observable.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure (GCP)

• Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Cloud Run
• Architect scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure on GCP
• Manage IAM roles, service accounts, and permissions following least-privilege principles
• Optimize cloud spend through resource right-sizing and monitoring

CI/CD & Application Deployment

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) for Blazor (Server/WebAssembly) applications
• Automate build, test, and deployment workflows for .NET/Blazor front-end and back-end services
• Implement blue-green or canary deployment strategies for zero-downtime releases
• Manage environment configurations across dev, staging, and production

Monitoring & Observability

• Set up and manage Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and alerting policies
• Create dashboards to track application health, latency, error rates, and resource utilization
• Implement proactive alerting and incident response workflows
• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and outages

Database Management

• Manage and maintain cloud databases (Cloud SQL, Firestore, or similar) including backups, scaling, and performance tuning
• Implement database migration strategies and version control for schema changes
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries/indexes as needed
• Ensure data security, encryption, and compliance with backup/retention policies

Front-End & Networking Support

• Support deployment and hosting of front-end applications (Blazor WASM, static assets, CDN configuration)
• Configure and manage DNS records, domain mapping, and SSL/TLS certificates
• Work with load balancers, Cloud CDN, and networking components (VPC, firewall rules)
• Troubleshoot front-end deployment and connectivity issues

End-to-End Testing & Quality Automation

• Set up, host, and maintain end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright within CI/CD pipelines
• Integrate automated E2E test runs into build/release workflows to gate deployments
• Manage test infrastructure (headless browser environments, test runners, reporting dashboards) in the cloud
• Collaborate with QA/dev teams to ensure test suites run reliably across environments (dev, staging, production)
• Monitor and troubleshoot flaky tests, test execution performance, and reporting pipelines

Collaboration & Best Practices

• Partner with development teams to embed DevOps practices into the SDLC
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar)
• Document architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident management as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps/Cloud Engineer role, with significant hands-on GCP experience
• Strong working knowledge of Cloud Run and container-based deployments (Docker)
• Proven experience configuring Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and alerting
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines specifically for .NET/Blazor applications
• Experience managing cloud databases (Cloud SQL – PostgreSQL/MySQL, or Firestore)
• Familiarity with front-end deployment workflows and static asset hosting
• Practical experience configuring DNS, domain management, and SSL certificates
• Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, or Python) for automation
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Understanding of networking concepts: VPC, load balancing, firewalls, CDN
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
• Experience hosting and maintaining end-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright) integrated into CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

• GCP certification (Associate Cloud Engineer / Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE)
• Knowledge of security best practices (secret management, vulnerability scanning)
• Exposure to .NET/C# development for better collaboration with dev teams
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
