Join Equiem's Platform team as a Platform Engineer. You'll be the hands-on foundation that every product squad builds on. We're looking for someone genuinely excited by infrastructure work. You'll own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and data platform capabilities that keep 27 engineers shipping confidently.
Reporting to our Platform Lead, you'll work in Melbourne with structured mentorship from senior engineers. This is a role for engineers who find satisfaction in clean deployments, optimised security configurations, faster CI runs, and pipelines that just work.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Maintain and improve AWS infrastructure using CDK (TypeScript), supporting ECS clusters and deployment pipelines.
- Help fix deployment failures, follow runbooks, and contribute to post-mortems.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD workflows in CircleCI and contribute to infrastructure hygiene.
- Own and maintain specific platform services day-to-day bug fixes, dependency upgrades, performance improvements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, responding to incidents and contributing to learning post-mortems.
- Follow secure engineering practices and support PCI DSS and SOC2 compliance work.
Essential
- Hands-on experience with AWS (or Azure/GCP with willingness to learn AWS)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Solid understanding of TypeScript or statically-typed languages
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tooling
- Genuine interest in platform, infrastructure, and reliability engineering
- Clear communication and ability to follow established processes
- Exposure to data engineering concepts ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL, or BI tooling
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tooling CloudWatch, PagerDuty
- Understanding of security and compliance concepts
- Experience working in on-call or incident response capacity
- Awareness of networking fundamentals VPCs, security groups, VPNs
