Job Responsibilities
You will be working with a team of software engineers to design, build, and deploy containerized and serverless applications on the cloud, supporting Razer's growing ecosystem of microservices, data platforms, and AI-driven services.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership in designing scalable, high-performance, secure, cost-efficient, and maintainable cloud-native systems that support both current and future business needs. You will play a key role in transforming our existing single-region, monolithic platform into a distributed, cloud-native microservices architecture, with a strong focus on multi-region deployments, data residency compliance, and modern service decomposition.
Essential Roles And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy microservice applications on AWS.
- Build and maintain scalable deployment platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies on AWS or GCP.
- Develop, own, and maintain mission-critical, high-traffic Razer ID API microservices within your area of responsibility.
- Utilize containerization and Kubernetes to support scalable and reproducible deployments in a cloud environment (AWS or GCP).
- Collaborate closely with engineering, security, product, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure the architecture supports both functional and regulatory requirements.
- Establish engineering best practices, architectural standards, and code review processes to ensure consistent, high-quality implementations across services and regions.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering technical growth and engineering excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PD, internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, AI/ML, and web architecture, and evaluate their potential to improve the system design.
- Participate in production support and provide technical expertise for critical issues escalated by the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in an IT-related role, including at least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, PHP, or equivalent backend technologies.
- Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, particularly multi-region deployments, including service mesh architectures, traffic routing, global failover strategies, latency optimization, regional scaling, and cross-region consistency.
- Proficient in cloud-native technologies, including containers (Docker), Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Familiarity with gRPC, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Redis is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a passion for teamwork.
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC).
- Strong understanding of software development principles such as Agile and SCRUM.
