Type: Full-time, permanent
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 base
Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage.
About the Role
We're a fast-growing AI startup building software that powers enterprise client solutions, and we're hiring a Full Stack Engineer to own real work from day one. This role is heavily backend-focused — roughly 80% Python, 20% React — with meaningful ownership of AWS infrastructure and AI integrations.
You'd be joining a small engineering team where what you ship is visible immediately. There's no layer of process between you and the problem. If that sounds like a feature rather than a bug, keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications in Python
- Build and support React-based frontend features as needed
- Configure and manage AWS environments — EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, and client-specific infrastructure
- Design database schemas and build secure, scalable REST APIs
- Integrate AI capabilities and automation into existing products and workflows
- Troubleshoot production issues across client environments
- Partner directly with client services to translate customer needs into working software
- Own projects end-to-end: architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing support
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, especially AI tooling and agentic workflows
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong Python backend development experience
- Working experience with React
- Hands-on AWS experience — spinning up and managing infrastructure, not just deploying to it
- Experience designing database schemas and building REST APIs
- Ability to troubleshoot production systems and integrate third-party services
- Startup experience, or a track record in similarly fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Familiarity with AI tools or LLMs — professional or personal projects both count
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to operate independently with minimal direction and adapt as priorities shift
Nice to Have
- FastAPI, Django, or Flask
- Docker, CI/CD, and cloud-native development
- Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLM APIs
- Vector databases, AI agents, or workflow automation
- Experience building and supporting SaaS platforms
- Comfort working directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders
