COMPANY

This company delivers personal home care services within the Chinese-American population in New York City.

SUMMARY

Our client, a fast-growing company in the healthcare services space, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to act as a right hand to the CEO and senior leadership team. This isn't a conventional back-office operations position; it's a high-visibility seat at the table for someone who wants proximity to the company's biggest decisions, ownership of critical initiatives, and a direct hand in shaping how the business runs day to day.

Early on, this person will likely function as a high-leverage individual contributor, using that time to get deep exposure to the business, earn trust across departments, and figure out where they can add the most value. As the role evolves, we anticipate expanding their scope to include ownership of key functions and teams, guided by the company's needs, the leader's demonstrated capabilities, and the areas where they find the most engagement and drive.

We're looking for someone sharp, resilient, humble, and highly accountable, someone excited both to roll up their sleeves on execution now and to grow into building and leading teams down the road.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support CEO-level priorities: Serve as a trusted operating partner to the CEO and executive team, helping turn strategic goals into concrete plans with clear owners, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Drive execution across functions: Take ownership of top-priority initiatives spanning clinical operations, intake, recruiting, compliance, caregiver training, partnerships, growth, data, technology, and HR. Success will require influencing functional leaders before holding formal authority over their teams.
  • Stand up the systems needed to scale: Design the dashboards, meeting cadences, tools, workflows, and accountability structures that let the business move faster and operate with greater rigor.
  • Convert data into decisions: Apply analytics to pinpoint problems, surface opportunities, build business cases, and sharpen decision-making. Comfort independently building models and tools in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is expected.
  • Tackle undefined, high-stakes problems: Dive into the business's messiest or least-owned challenges, whether that's resolving onboarding bottlenecks, boosting patient retention, or getting ahead of new revenue streams, market expansion, or value-based care opportunities.
  • Grow into functional leadership: Build credibility by learning the business and delivering early wins. Over time, take on direct leadership of teams or functions where fit, business need, and impact potential align.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

We're looking for someone who pairs strategic firepower with true operator instincts. Strong candidates will likely have:

  • 1 to 5 years of post-MBA experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, high-growth healthcare or health-tech operations, corporate strategy, growth roles, Chief of Staff positions, or PE portfolio operating roles.
  • A track record of exceptional execution. You move work forward quickly and reliably, without needing close supervision.
  • Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese.
  • Sharp analytical ability. You're at ease building models, structuring ambiguous problems, working with data, and turning insight into action.
  • Humility paired with strong ownership. No task is too small, and you can move between boardroom strategy and frontline process work in the same day.
  • Executive-level polish. You communicate with clarity, lead with the bottom line, manage senior relationships effectively, and represent the business well externally and internally.
  • High emotional intelligence. You build genuine trust with people across the organization, from frontline caregivers to senior leadership.
  • A competitive edge. You're motivated to win, move quickly, and help build something meaningful.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset. You thrive in ambiguity, enjoy building from the ground up, and are comfortable creating structure where none currently exists.
  • A genuine connection to the mission of improving access to quality care for patients, caregivers, and communities.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

This business has strong fundamentals, deep community trust, and significant growth potential. The next chapter will require stronger operating systems, sharper execution, better data, and leaders who can move across strategy and frontline operations with equal confidence.

This role is designed for someone who wants more than a narrow functional seat. It is a platform to help shape the future of the business, build teams, influence company-wide priorities, and grow into a broader operating leadership role over time.
