Position Summary
Hutton Broadcasting is seeking a proven executive leader to serve as Vice President / Regional Manager for its regional multimedia operations.
Hutton Broadcasting is a family-owned media company operating 15 radio stations and complementary digital marketing, video production, publishing, indoor digital display, content, engineering, and administrative operations across New Mexico and Southwest Colorado. The company currently operates across Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Farmington, Durango, and Cortez.
The Vice President / Regional Manager will serve as the company’s senior day-to-day operating executive, with responsibility for financial performance, revenue growth, organizational effectiveness, personnel leadership, and execution of the company’s strategic priorities.
This executive will have the authority to evaluate the existing organization, establish an effective management structure, assign reporting relationships, develop leaders, and allocate resources within the strategic and financial parameters established by ownership.
The objective of the position is to build and operate a high-performing organization that allows ownership to focus on governance, long-term strategy, capital allocation, investments, and acquisitions rather than daily management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership across all company markets, stations, departments, employees, and media platforms.
- Assume accountability for revenue, expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
- Develop and execute annual operating plans that support ownership’s strategic objectives.
- Evaluate the existing organizational structure and implement appropriate reporting relationships, leadership roles, staffing levels, and accountability systems.
- Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain an effective management team.
- Build a sales-focused culture with clear goals for prospecting, new business, renewals, client retention, pricing discipline, and revenue growth.
- Integrate radio, digital services, video production, publishing, indoor digital displays, marketing, and content into a coordinated multimedia strategy.
- Improve productivity, operating efficiency, internal communication, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Oversee financial controls, billing, collections, traffic, administration, engineering, technology, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Maintain productive relationships with major advertisers, community leaders, government representatives, vendors, and industry partners.
- Provide ownership with accurate financial reporting, forecasts, strategic recommendations, and timely identification of significant risks and opportunities.
- Ensure routine operating and personnel decisions are made at the management level rather than deferred to ownership.
- Determine the most effective organizational and management structure.
- Establish or modify reporting relationships and departmental responsibilities.
- Hire, evaluate, develop, reorganize, discipline, and terminate employees.
- Establish performance goals, operating standards, and accountability measures.
- Allocate approved operating resources.
- Set pricing, sales policies, business procedures, and management expectations within approved parameters.
- Negotiate and approve routine contracts and operating commitments within delegated authority.
- Implement the company’s approved strategic plan and annual budget.
