About Architect Motors

Architect Motors is a San Francisco-based company on a mission to democratize personal transportation in the developing world with a purpose-built electric motorcycle. We benefit from the agility of a startup without the uncertainty of traditional venture capital, backed by stable, long-term funding. Our Leadership are alumni of MIT & McKinsey and bring extensive EV development and production expertise to the table. With ten years of hands-on experience across emerging markets, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver world-class electric mobility that’s both accessible and sustainable.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly strategic, operationally-minded Chief of Staff to partner directly with the CEO in developing and launching our electric motorcycle product in Latin America, starting with Mexico.

This is not an executive assistant role. You will act as a critical force multiplier, taking strategic objectives and turning them into executed reality. You will play a key role in designing, standing up, and managing core systems necessary to run a globally distributed electric vehicle OEM. From mapping out offshore supply chains and navigating international logistics to structuring our local assembly, logistics, aftersales and sales operations in LatAm, you will be in the trenches ensuring the business scales efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Execution: Partner directly with the CEO to drive the development and market launch of our EV product in Mexico and the broader LatAm market.
  • System Design & Management: Build and manage the operational infrastructure required to run a global EV OEM, linking offshore supply chains with LatAm sales and distribution.
  • Supply Chain & Manufacturing: Develop systems and processes for managing and optimizing a complex offshore supply chain, ensuring strict cost control, quality assurance, and on-time delivery.
  • Import & Logistics Strategy: Play a key role in developing importation strategy, navigating tariffs, customs, and evaluating financial models for local vs. offshore assembly.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as connective tissue, ensuring our parent organization, sister companies, and in-country operations team are aligned and executing.
  • Problem Solving: Dive into the most pressing operational challenges, formulate actionable plans, and aggressively execute them to keep the company moving at startup speed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of management consulting, investment banking, VC, BizOps, or similar
  • A bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience dealing with hard, physical-world operational challenges, specifically in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, cost control, or distribution.
  • An operator's mindset: you can think strategically from 10,000 feet, but are eager to get your hands dirty to build plans and execute them.
  • Ability to work on-site in Alameda, CA.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not available).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and/or Mandarin.
  • Prior experience in the automotive, EV, or micromobility sectors.
  • Experience managing complex international trade, tariffs, and offshore manufacturing relationships.

Compensation & Benefits

The reasonably expected base salary for this role is $150,000-180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Architect also offers comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, and flexible unlimited paid time off.
