The Shire of Gingin is a vibrant growing local government located in the Wheatbelt region of WA, beyond the north-eastern fringe of the Perth metropolitan area. The Shire covers an area of 3,223 km2 and includes the towns of Gingin, Guilderton, Seabird, Ledge Point and Lancelin, and a number of large rural residential developments. The Shire’s Administration Centre and Council Chambers are located in the Gingin townsite, with a satellite Shire office in Lancelin.

Council is seeking an energetic leader who is prepared to immerse themselves in the community of Gingin and work closely with Elected Members to drive their strategic vision. You will lead the organisation into a sustainable future while maintaining a focus on continually improved council services and increased economic opportunity.

The incoming CEO will understand the importance of developing strong relationships with all sectors of the local community, as well as government agencies and other key stakeholders. You will oversight the delivery of quality services and infrastructure to the Shire, and ensure the Council receives professional and timely advice on all matters relating to the Shire’s operations. Of paramount importance will be your ability to identify and act upon the critical requirements of a diverse regional community.

With senior management experience in local government or relevant service-based organisations, your sound commercial acumen, strong leadership and financial management expertise will be complemented by a strategic focus, and strong passion for, and connection to regional communities. You will be an innovative and outward facing individual who is keen to be part of the community and make a difference. As a leader and communicator, your ability to inspire, engage and influence across all stakeholders and the broader community will be critical to your success.

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate on a five (5) year contract. The package will be in the range of $188,483 to $310,883 and will include base salary, superannuation, motor vehicle, and other benefits as negotiated.
