Myer is looking for an exceptional person to join the team as Strategy Execution Manager. The role will partner with the Head of Strategy and executive management team to shape and deliver the Group’s strategic agenda and corporate plan. This position is critical to driving value creation and embedding strategic thinking across the organisation. Working cross functionally, the Strategy Execution Manager will ensure that strategic initiatives are clearly aligned, well understood, and executed effectively to deliver measurable impact.
About the role:
- Support the Head of Strategy in developing and executing the corporate strategy roadmap, ensuring alignment with transformation objectives and long-term goals.
- Work with the Head of Strategy to develop and drive the multi-year strategy cycle, including conducting periodic and regular strategy workshops with the Executive Management Team (EMT)
- Partner with operational business units and commercial finance to develop and deliver business cases that align with corporate strategy and deliver measurable value.
- Act as a strategic connector between the strategy team and operational units to ensure stakeholder alignment and secure buy-in for change initiatives.
- Assist in translating high-level strategic vision into actionable business objectives and growth pathways.
- Lead market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats.
- Collaborate on identifying and developing new business opportunities, partnerships, and innovative retail strategies.
- Work closely with the Executive Management Team and business units to ensure cohesive and aligned strategy execution.
- Work with the Head of Strategy, commercial finance and other senior leaders across the Myer Group, to develop and embed a robust methodology of measuring and tracking the performance of key strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to major cross-functional projects (e.g., M&A, divestments, digital transformation), ensuring alignment with long-term value creation.
- Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by supporting new ideas and approaches.
- Facilitate regular strategy check-ins and reviews with the Executive Management Team and functional leads.
- Partner closely with operational subject matter experts to develop ad-hoc structured analysis, risk frameworks and reporting as required.
- Assist with the delivery and program management of key initiatives across all strategic pillars and associated metrics.
About you:
- Proven experience in strategic planning, execution and leadership, or similar role, preferably within a retail and/or consumer facing context.
- Operate with a forward-thinking, entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with an ability to anticipate industry trends, identify new opportunities, drive innovation that aligns with the company's strategic objectives.
- Skilled in distilling complex strategies into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and levels, including close collaboration with senior leaders.
- Proactive and hands-on, with a strong inclination to engage in discussions and drive outcomes—not just plan and track.
- Deep understanding of value creation levers within a retail business context.
- Strong grasp of financial principles, with the ability to assess business cases and investment opportunities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to design, lead, and facilitate strategic workshops with senior stakeholders—driving alignment, generating insights, and translating discussion into actionable outcomes.
- Highly organised with strong analytical capabilities and a structured approach to solving complex business problems.
