Responsibilities

You’ll make an impact as you:

  • Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
  • Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
  • Work alongside the Senior Director of Workforce Partnerships and other team members to:
  • Translate organizational and departmental strategy into operational objectives, plans, and workflows that advance the Bible translation movement and produce measurable outcomes.
  • Partner closely with peers, managers, and senior leaders to align priorities, clarify expectations, and resolve issues, contributing to coordinated, cross-functional solutions.
  • Lead hands-on improvement of assigned functions, processes, and service delivery systems by analyzing performance, identifying gaps, implementing solutions, and ensuring sustained adoption.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop staff through clear goal-setting, regular feedback, performance management, and practical problem-solving, fostering a healthy, high-performing team culture.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for staff in non-traditional, shared, or specialized roles, ensuring appropriate support, accountability, and alignment with organizational and team objectives.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Workforce Partnerships to align workforce practices, staffing models, and systems with organizational strategy and priorities.
  • Design and implement systems that strengthen staff support, engagement, supervision, and accountability across non-traditional roles.
  • Establish clear expectations, reporting relationships, and supervision frameworks; monitor staff placements to ensure role clarity, workload balance, and effective performance.
  • Administer performance management processes for non-traditional and specialized placed shared staff, including regular check-ins, goal alignment, feedback, and development planning, to support sustained performance and growth.
  • Collaborate with ministry and functional leaders to coordinate staff oversight, care, and operational alignment, representing staff needs and addressing gaps and risks to strengthen organizational effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Workforce Partnerships and Vice President of Workforce Partnerships and Development.
  • Partnership Development: Build and retain a team of prayer and financial partners that will sustain them during their entire Wycliffe ministry according to the Wycliffe Partnership Development policy.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinate supervisory responsibilities for 3-5 staff in accordance with the ministry’s policies and applicable laws, including spiritual leadership, interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Strong, reliable internet and phone connection.
    • Flexibility to adjust work schedules as needed to accommodate off-hours and multiple time zones.
    • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally.
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, organizational leadership, ministry or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in mission-focused or cross-cultural environments preferred, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders and influence organizational strategy.

Compensation

Non-traditional salaries are needs-based, determined by factors of housing and personal expenses based on geographic location, dependents and their ages, retirement savings, ministry expenses and taxes. Although salaries vary significantly and it’s not possible to provide an exact number for this position, a typical non-traditional salary for a missionary household is $44,304 to $81,816 annually. These salaries do not include your partnership-raised funds for health insurance, worker’s compensation insurance or Wycliffe assessment.
