Managing Director – ADHD & Autism Assessment Services



Reports to: Board of Directors



Location: UK (Hybrid/National)



Direct Reports: Clinical Director, Operations Director, Finance Manager, Head of Quality & Compliance, Business Development Manager, HR Manager



About the Role



The Managing Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the organisation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality ADHD and Autism assessment services across the UK. The post holder is responsible for driving sustainable growth, maintaining clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering outstanding outcomes for children, young people and adults. Working closely with the Board, NHS commissioners, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Local Authorities and private healthcare partners, the Managing Director will lead the organisation's commercial, operational and clinical strategy while fostering a culture centred on quality, compassion and innovation.



Responsibilities



  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and deliver the organisation's strategic vision and business plan.
  • Lead organisational growth through NHS, Local Authority and private sector partnerships.
  • Identify new markets, service opportunities and expansion plans.
  • Build a high-performing executive leadership team.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the organisation at national conferences, stakeholder forums and strategic meetings.
  • Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all assessment services across multiple locations and remote delivery.
  • Ensure services are safe, efficient and clinically effective.
  • Monitor operational performance against key performance indicators.
  • Lead capacity planning and workforce development.
  • Improve patient pathways and reduce assessment waiting times.
  • Ensure high-quality customer and patient experience.
  • Clinical Governance & Quality
  • Work alongside the Clinical Director to maintain the highest clinical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • NHS commissioning requirements
  • NICE guidelines
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Safeguarding legislation
  • Oversee quality assurance and clinical audit programmes.
  • Manage organisational risk and governance frameworks.
  • Business Development
  • Develop relationships with:
  • NHS Trusts
  • Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
  • Local Authorities
  • Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts
  • Private medical insurers
  • Employers and Occupational Health providers
  • Lead tender submissions and contract negotiations.
  • Identify strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities.
  • Expand national service delivery.
  • Financial Leadership
  • Hold overall responsibility for financial performance.
  • Develop annual budgets and long-term financial plans.
  • Monitor profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management.
  • Present financial and operational reports to the Board.
  • Deliver sustainable growth while maintaining service quality.
