Chief Enterprise Architect Officer

Position Summary:

The Chief Architect Officer (CAO) is responsible for defining and governing the organization's overall technology architecture strategy to ensure scalability, security, resilience, and long-term business growth. The CAO provides executive leadership in enterprise architecture, platform architecture, cloud transformation, data architecture, AI enablement, and technology standards while aligning technology investments with the company's strategic objectives.

Working closely with the CEO, CTO, CIO, Chief Data Officer, Chief AI Officer, and business leaders, the CAO establishes the enterprise technology blueprint that enables innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable digital transformation.

Job Descriptions:

1. Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Technology Vision

• Define and maintain the organization's enterprise architecture vision, principles, and long-term technology roadmap.
• Ensure technology architecture supports business strategy, scalability, and future innovation.
• Drive modernization initiatives across applications, platforms, infrastructure, data, and cloud environments.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments.

2. Platform & Solution Architecture Leadership

• Establish architecture standards for enterprise platforms, digital products, and core business systems.
• Lead architecture reviews for strategic initiatives and large-scale transformation programs. Ensure consistency, interoperability, and reuse across technology domains.
• Guide solution architecture for mission-critical business capabilities.

3. Cloud, Infrastructure & Modernization

• Define cloud architecture strategy across public, private, and hybrid environments.
• Lead application modernization and cloud-native adoption.
• Drive microservices, API-first, event-driven, and distributed architecture initiatives.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, availability, and scalability.

4. Data, AI & Emerging Technology Architecture

• Define enterprise data architecture supporting analytics, AI, and intelligent automation.
• Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer and Chief AI Officer to build scalable AI-ready platforms.
• Govern integration architecture for enterprise data ecosystems.
• Evaluate new technologies including Generative AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, and Edge Computing.

5. Technology Governance & Architecture Excellence

• Establish architecture governance processes, design authorities, and technology standards.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, privacy, and enterprise governance requirements.
• Lead architecture risk assessment and technical debt management.
• Drive architecture quality across all technology initiatives.

6. Executive Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Advise executive leadership on technology strategy and architecture investments.
• Partner with business leaders to translate business capabilities into technology solutions.
• Mentor enterprise architects and technical leaders.
• Represent architecture strategy in Board and Executive Committee discussions

Qualifications:

• MBA/ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; PhD degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, or technology leadership, including executive-level roles.
• Proven expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, data platforms, AI technologies, and enterprise integration.
• Strong experience leading large-scale digital transformation, technology modernization, architecture governance, and cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Exceptional strategic leadership, business acumen, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership and drive enterprise-wide innovation.
